What a start to the New Year

Ugh.

I caught some sort of virus.  I was the only one who caught it.  Son ran a fever two nights, daughter had a sniffle, husband was tired for two days.

But me?

I've been down and out for over a week and a half.  Cannot kick this.  I'm sleeping a ridiculous amount.  I wake up with blood on my teeth from my sinuses/throat.  I sound like a 90 year old smoker.  I'm a hot mess.

This afternoon I took two benedryl and an atarax and suddenly I could breathe.  So I'm pretty sure at this point that what's left is just mast cell meltdown.  Which is fab.  I saw my doctor last week and he said it was a virus and nothing to do.  But now I'm thinking I'm going to need a medrol dose pack to kick me out of this.

Which of course has the beautiful side effect of tanking my immune system even more.

While the budesonide has been great on my GI, I've definitely noticed my immune system has been affected by it.

In other news!  I am applying for a scholarship to attend Rare Disease Lobby Day in February.  I am not really counting on it, and if I do get it I'm going to have to do some scrambling to get kiddos watched.  But it would be such an amazing experience.

So that's what's happening here.
